A lot of times in game development we need to create placeholder voice over audio for our games. This is often accomplished with the use of computer voices that you might find built into windows, or with the use of online tools that will generate lines for you. The difficulty with this comes with generating many lines of voice over, sometimes a game can have hundreds of lines and this will be painful and time consuming using an online tool.
What I’ve done is create a simple Windows Forms tool to easily generate as many lines as you wish. This is accomplished by filling out an excel like table with lines of file name and a string of the line to be recorded. This enables us to quickly copy and paste data from an excel document that we’ve made with all the lines we need.
All of the code for this project can be found on GitHub at Voice Over Generator.
